Dr. Jane Bolin is Associate Dean for Research and Regent’s Professor at Texas A&M College of Nursing and School of Public Health. Disaster Disparities has long been a research interest of Dr. Bolin’s She served as PI and Director of the Southwest Rural Health Research Center from 2008 – 2019 and successfully achieved national funding of the Center as one of only seven funded rural health research centers in the nation. Dr. Bolin now serves as Deputy Director of the Center along with Dr. Alva Ferdinand. Dr. Bolin is a nationally recognized expert in health law, rural health, chronic disease and health disparities. Dr. Bolin’s background as a critical care nurse and lawyer, combined with her 20 years of university-level health services research, have given her a unique perspective that is reflected by positive student feedback and her peer-elected leadership roles. Dr. Bolin has been PI or Co-PI on grants totaling more than $15 M since 2010 alone, providing opportunities for College of Nursing and Public Health faculty and graduate students, and creating strong interdisciplinary and community partnerships across the A&M Health Science Center.
