Dr. Wells-Beede has 12 years of education experience, as a certified healthcare simulation educator (CHSE) and has served as primary investigator for integrating innovative teaching methodologies.  She is a co-investigator for the HRSA-20-012 as the Virtual Reality Simulation Director and Co-PI for the Presidential Transformational Teaching Grant and PI for the Office of Information Technology Texas A&M University for Innovation in Academic Teaching Grant as well as the Dean’s Excellence fund, both supporting the utilization of innovation in simulation and the classroom and Mulit-PI for the Presidential Clinical Research Grant, looking at racial disparities with maternal health. Dr. Wells-Beede works extensively with the Department of Visualization and Special Education to create a virtual reality platform useful in training virtually for infectious disease risks.
