Dr. Alison Pittman: has worked as a pediatric nurse in inpatient, critical care, and community settings for over 25 years, and her scholarship and experience has prepared her well for future contributions to this field of study. Dr. Pittman’s research interests center on promotion of health and well-being among children and families, particularly the underserved. She has experience currently serving as a co-investigator on two HRSA grants serving rural south Texas as part of an RCORP opioid addiction intervention program. During her master’s degree, she completed clinical hours for a Nurse Family Partnership group in Austin, Texas (Any Baby Can). She has personally observed the challenges that at-risk new mothers and their children are up against, and sees a major need a voice and advocate to speak to approaches to wellness that are not just proven but realistic for busy families to take on. Dr. Pittman is extremely committed to eliminating disparities to improve the quality of life for children and families.
